So I’ve mentioned before that I’m pursuing my MFA in Interactive Media and Game Design (is today the day that I write about that? signs point to no). As part of that I’ve doing projects here and there that I’m going to start writing up and linking because I’m actually really excited about them, but one of the projects involved bringing back a bit of hypertext fiction I’d written almost ten years ago and using it as an example of a story that would have to go through a lot of hoops if I wanted to submit it to an online market.
I’ll write up that project separately, since it really deserves its own fanfare, but I recently took a look at the sample story and found myself really falling in love with its little coding trick all over again. I ended up pretty heavily revising it, but I’m not going to submit it anywhere– it still needs to serve its purpose as a sample work, and I’m happy for it to continue doing so. But I figured, why not drop it here as well? I hope you enjoy– and let me know how often you ended up refreshing your browser…
